Eight weeks after having a baby, the White House Press Secretary was back on the job with the president, and she made a big splash.
Karoline Leavitt, 28, stepped off Air Force One on June 23, 2026. She was joining President Donald Trump for a trip to a Mack Trucks plant in Reading, Pennsylvania. This was her first big public appearance since having her daughter, Viviana Riccio, earlier this year. The pictures from the trip made fans super excited, and the online comments say it all.
Leavitt landed at Reading Regional Airport looking like she hadn’t just spent the last two months on maternity leave (time off after having a baby). She wore a short beige blazer over a white shirt, tight black jeans, and a matching beige bag. She had a huge smile as she walked off the plane. This visit shows she is back in the public eye after taking time off to focus on her family when her daughter was born on May 1.
Just a few months ago, she was showing off her pregnant belly at White House events, like the White House Correspondents’ dinner on April 25, 2026. Leavitt shares her new baby girl and an older son, Niko Riccio, with her husband, Nicholas Riccio, 60. Lately, she had only been sharing small peeks into her life as a mom of two.
Naturally, Tuesday’s photos spread fast online, and people weren’t shy about sharing their thoughts. On Instagram, everyone focused on one major thing: how she looked. “She doesn’t look like she just had a kid. Pretty amazing,” one person wrote. Another said, “She looks AMAZING! Love her!” A third chimed in, “Looking better than ever😍.”
The kind words were a bit surprising, since people usually have very strong, split opinions about politicians in this administration. But the praise kept coming on Facebook too. “She looks good too!” wrote one user, while others added, “She is outstanding! Glad she is back!”
Eight weeks postpartum (after giving birth), back at work, and getting this kind of love. Between her outfit, her smile, and the internet’s reaction, Leavitt made a very loud return to her job.
She only looked serious in a few photos where she had to hold an umbrella in the rain. As a press secretary, she clearly knows how to get people talking. Back on May 7, she gave fans their first look at her daughter, less than a week after she was born. Her caption shared a sweet personal story.
Leavitt confirmed the baby’s birth on Instagram, writing: “On May 1st, Viviana aka ‘Vivi’ joined our family, and our hearts instantly exploded with love. 💕” She told followers that the baby was healthy and perfect, and that her big brother was doing great adjusting to the new baby sister. She added that they were loving every minute in their happy newborn bubble and thanked everyone for their prayers during her pregnancy, ending with “God is Good. 🙏”
The photo itself got a lot of attention. Leavitt was wearing a soft pink sweater and gray sweatpants, holding her baby in a nursery that looked perfect. The room had a cozy chair, a crib, pink curtains, and a mix of cream and pink colors, making it feel warm and real rather than staged.
On Facebook, people flooded her with sweet notes. “The baby is beautiful,” one wrote. Another said, “She doesn’t look like she just gave birth. WOW! Beautiful Mom and daughter.” Over on Instagram, the vibe was just as warm, with fans calling her stunning and wishing her well.
While Leavitt handles a super high-pressure political job, she clearly has a soft side at home. In November 2024, after Trump won the election, she was named the youngest White House Press Secretary in history. She celebrated on Instagram, thanking Trump for believing in her, and thanking her family, friends, and her son for always keeping her grounded.
Her husband, Nicholas Riccio, also gets a lot of public attention because he is 32 years older than she is. Leavitt is 28, and Riccio is 60. Despite the big age gap, their relationship is going strong. In a YouTube interview, Leavitt explained that they met through a friend during her congressional campaign in New Hampshire. The friend hosted an event at his restaurant where Leavitt spoke, and Riccio was a guest.
Though she was unsure at first because of the age difference, she soon realized he was her biggest supporter, her rock, and her best friend. Riccio had already built a successful real estate career before they met, which meant he could fully back her big career goals.
Before taking the White House job, Leavitt was Trump’s national press secretary during the 2024 campaign, and she was pregnant for a lot of it. She found out she was pregnant right when she was offered the job, but the campaign leaders were incredibly welcoming and supportive. It was a demanding time, but she already had a strong background, having worked in the previous Trump administration, for Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, and running her own 2022 campaign for Congress. Even though she lost that election, it changed her life both personally and professionally.
Leavitt gave birth to her son, Niko, in July 2024. Just three days later, the attempted assassination of Trump happened in Pennsylvania. That shocking moment cut her maternity leave short. She decided to go right back to work because she felt the campaign really needed her. While it was a tough emotional choice to leave her newborn every day, she said becoming a mom actually gave her better focus, and she leaned heavily on her family for help. In fact, her mother even left her job in New Hampshire to help care for Niko.
Lately, Leavitt had been getting ready for her second child, sharing sweet photos of her baby bump and joking with reporters at her final briefings before taking leave. Fans have loved watching her journey. In just a few short years, she went from a candidate to the White House Press Secretary, all while becoming a wife and a mom of two. Balancing rallies, late-night news briefings, and baby feedings, she has shown the world the real, exhausting, and rewarding side of balancing a huge career with family life.
