Authorities state the violence transpired around 12:12 p.m. local time Monday in Muscatine, where six individuals were slain in what police characterized as a domestic-related shooting rampage involving members of the identical household.

According to police details reported by 6ABC, officers answered to multiple spots across the municipality after reports of gunfire. Four casualties were uncovered deceased inside one residence, while two others were later found at a second dwelling and a nearby enterprise.
“Today I simply do not possess the words — this action of wickedness and what it has done to our population,” Muscatine Police Chief Anthony Kies remarked at a press conference Monday.
Police identified the suspected gunman as Ryan Willis McFarland, 52. Authorities stated Ryan perished from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after officers located and confronted him near a pathway along the Mississippi River.

“While conversing with Ryan Willis McFarland, he took his own life,” Kies remarked. “Officers and EMS personnel administered aid. However, he was declared deceased at the location.”
The police chief stated the suspect possesses a criminal history, though he did not expand. There is no active peril to the population, Kies stated. The homicides remain under scrutiny.

Lesa, 51, labored in diet services at Susan Clark Junior High in Muscatine. Dakota, 32, leaves behind his betrothed, Audrey Perdue, and household members who are now grieving a future that was suddenly stripped away.

Austin, 29, was remembered by loved ones as a gentle and affectionate person. Household members stated he spent seven years laboring at Musco Lighting and was recognized for his commitment and powerful work ethic.
Ryle, 20, had recently graduated from the University of Northern Iowa and was preparing to commence her teaching profession in the autumn. The university characterized her as a brilliant student with an exhilarating future ahead.
Mark, 16, had just finished his junior year of high school and was recognized by colleagues at Pizza Ranch as a prized member of the squad. Ryan Jr., 13, had recently finished seventh grade.
