, best known for starring in the TV series Walker, Texas Ranger, has reportedly been hospitalized in Hawaii after experiencing a medical emergency within the last 24 hours, according to sources cited by TMZ.
Norris, 86, was said to be training on the island of Kauai before the incident occurred. Details about the nature of the medical emergency have not yet been publicly confirmed. However, a friend who reportedly spoke with him said the actor was in good spirits and even cracking jokes while recovering.
Earlier this month, Norris celebrated his 86th birthday and shared a video of himself sparring. In the post, he wrote:
“I don’t age. I level up. I’m 86 today! Nothing like some playful action on a sunny day to make you feel young. I’m grateful for another year, good health, and the chance to keep doing what I love. Thank you all for being the best fans in the world.”
Before becoming a Hollywood star, Norris served in the United States Air Force and later built a reputation as a champion martial artist. He eventually created his own martial arts system known as Chun Kuk Do and trained numerous celebrities.
Norris made his film debut with a small role in the movie The Wrecking Crew before gaining wider recognition as a villain opposite Bruce Lee in The Way of the Dragon.
Encouraged by his friend and student Steve McQueen, Norris later pursued leading roles in action films. His early starring performances included Breaker! Breaker! and Good Guys Wear Black, followed by a string of successful martial arts movies such as A Force of One, The Octagon, and An Eye for an Eye.
His most iconic role came in the 1990s with Walker, Texas Ranger, which aired on CBS from 1993 to 2001. Norris continued appearing in action films for years afterward, including a notable appearance in The Expendables 2.
Later, Norris gained renewed popularity online through the viral “Chuck Norris facts” meme, which humorously exaggerated his strength and toughness. Clips from Walker, Texas Ranger also gained attention when they were featured on Late Night with Conan O’Brien in the mid-2000s.
For now, fans continue to await updates on Norris’ condition as the legendary martial artist and actor recovers from the reported medical incident.
